The industrial rock band RI:SA has been keeping up the noise for about 5 years now. The band was formed by Sami and Riku who started recording music in their home studio Sami had been building into his garage in summer 2006. After having released 6 records over the course of 2006-2011 and gaining something of a cult status among the industrial circles of Mikseri.net, the band's been silent for a while now. This is what the band writes in the info file of their new compilation release:
this compilation of RI:SA-works from 2006 to 2011 (compiled by both members) marks the end of the first era of RI:SA, which consisted of noisy, synth-driven angsty industrial rock that sami and riku produced in their small studio later called "the vault72". today the vault72 is being teared down and the paths of sami and riku remain unknown, but for RI:SA this only means refreshment and a chance to pick a new direction to march on. after all, the silence of our muted misery still needs to be broken!
While the compilation is a good way for new listeners to get to know RI:SA, it also offers something for older listeners: the unreleased 2009 b-side 'kanssaihminen' (also being the only RI:SA-track with finnish lyrics), the hidden track of 'The Maggots Are Satisfied... And They Remind of Their Substrates' without the annoying 13-min silence in the beginning and the title track of their first EP 'Reflection' from 2006 which is a quite rare thing. Get it now!

Surprisingly, we're still somehow alive.
It's been quiet for a few months now. The Outsider Distribution is still in the baby's shoes, and all the upkeepers of the website have been working on different projects (including summer vacation, those lazy ass musicians) for the whole time. Now it's time to put things back on trail!
Firstly, we are happy to announce few new releases from our great artists, and some other news too. Now, the latest releases!
Begga(R): Antimacassar (TO0007)
Begga(R) has released his first EP called Antimacassar. Lasting approx. 41 minutes, Antimacassar takes its listeners into their own individual flight. Meter by meter, the flight will pass the clouds, reaching the orbit and eventually the space. Antimacassar includes four ambient/shoegaze-influenced tracks which the last one, Eilam, is over 20 minute long ambient work full of down-to-earth yet heavenly euphoria. The first track Therps Ikhore mixes complex IDM rhythms but the second track shares dreamful yet devastating shoegaze elements. The third track Clocking Å adds more clockwork like percussions and deep guitar layers. Antimacassar feels better during summer! Strongly recommended for fans of organic, warm and at some parts melodic atmospheres.
There's also a bonus remix of the track "Clocking Å" available in Soundcloud, check it out!
Vrum: The Symbols And Their Meanings EP (TO0008)
Once again, Vrum has changed its course to new tides of music. This time, our stunning one man band has made a math rock/indie-pop EP in the footsteps of Mew. Melancholic, massive, melodramatic and somewhat experimental 5 -song EP leaves you wordless (unless you are die-hard Mew-fanatic)! Glitched nintendos, complex riffs and sky-high, mellow vocals, if that's what you love, this EP is for you.
You can also find it from Spotify, along the Debut Album of Vrum!
These are the new official releases, enjoy! They all are for free download, of course. Unfortunately we've been continuously encountering problems with printing physical CDs, so temporarily we can't provide you any physical products, sorry. We are working hard on this, and will inform you when physical versions of releases will be available again. Stay tuned!
Back to happier news, we are happy to announce this one special piece of music!
Sami Jokinen, known from Vrum and RI:SA, started a new project called The Vault 72 Orchestra. It's practically a tribute to Thee Silver Mt. Zion, and the new main outlet of all his post-rock fantasies. The project is still in progress, but 3 amazing songs have seen the release in mikseri.net, go give them a try!
Also, we've tentatively made a deal with a new artist, Heijala. This finnish darkwave -artist has made music for many years already, but as he said: "nobody wants to release my music, so would you like to do that?" And we certainly want to! His cryptic, poetic finnish lyrics combined to beautiful synth walls are something you really can't miss.
Anyway, the actual release of the album is still somewhere in the near future, so stay tuned!
Check out Heijala @ Mikseri.net!
The debut album of Chalice For Your Loss is still in progress, mostly because of the CD-printing issues, and partly because the cream-ass-motherfucker-lead singer isn't happy with any of the proposed cover arts. But it will come, sooner or later!
MKDELTA has propably been the most active artist while we've been on summer vacation. This industrial-post-apocalyptic-crush group has been doing live shows, gathering fame and finishing up their upcoming debut album Otherness. You will certainly hear from these guys in future, they are aiming high, and road seems straight and clear! Already over 1,000 listeners in last.fm, wow!

New releases!
The first months of 2011 have been quite productive for The Outsider's artists, particularly in the field of post-rock music. Chalice For Your Loss are on their way recording their full length album and the creation process of Vrum's debut album has been finished and it's up for download!
But there is more! 26.3. was the day when the Earth Hour of this year was held. This meant new tracks by MKDELTA, Vrum and dark ambient/drone artist Nescient, when each one of them created a 20-minute track to form a soundtrack for the hour the lights went down. Earth Hour has already passed this year, but the release is still up for download! Please check the downloads-section!
Let's take a closer look of the new releases mentioned:
Vrum: The Debut Album of Vrum (TO0005)
The Debut Album of Vrum is an atmospheric and emotional mixture of art rock, electronic ambient, post-rock and electronica, all homebrew but with high level of production. Vrum has utilized an interesting scale of instruments on the record including violin, piano, harmonica, circuit-bent toy synths, saws, tape player and egg-cutter!
MKDELTA/Vrum/Nescient: The Earth Hour Project (TO0006)
This digital split-album ended up becoming a really interesting package and truly deserves to be listened to more often than once in a year! Shows interestingly the way each artist proceeds to create a 20-minute song.
MKDELTA has written a good journal describing the deeper details of each track.
Chalice For Your Loss - 2011 Sampler (Instrumental)
Chalice For Your Loss - 2011 Sampler (Instrumental) by The Outsider Distribution
And here we have a sampler to give a foretaste of the upcoming CFYL-release! The sampler is instrumental, for the vocal tracks have not yet been recorded. But our patience will be rewarded!
